We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Technician who will help our organization push quality to new levels. The Quality Technician will play a crucial role in documenting that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality measurement systems, identify areas for improvement and drive continuous quality enhancement throughout the product lifecycle. The Quality Technician will work closely with Quality Engineers, the Testing and Validation team, and the Manufacturing team to record product robustness, identify weak points, and implement necessary controls to ensure our products and services exceed customer expectations. This position works in a team environment and will split time between our home office in Newburgh, IN and CRMS in Madisonville, KY. This is not a remote position.
This position reports to the Director of Quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with internal teams to improve the quality of products for enhancement of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure measurements taken adhere to company and industry quality standards.
- Assist in the recording, documenting, implementation, communication, and maintenance of a company’s quality management systems, policies, documentation, data, and customer – specific requirements.
- Validate processes, equipment, and product meets engineering requirements.
- Perform verification of engineering requirements during the manufacturing of product.
- Implement and improve inspection plans for incoming components, materials, in process assembly and test.
- Prepare reports and documentation on malfunctions and corrective measures.
- Assist teams in follow-through of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the company’s continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state of the art practices, participating in professional societies, and maintaining ASQ-certified inspector/technician qualification.
- Support the company’s ISO/IEC80079-34 initiatives.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Certification through Quality Technology program of a community college or vocational school.
- Associate degree in Quality Engineering field.
- 4+ years of experience in the Quality field.
- Experience using variety of measurement devices, gauges, tools and methods.
- Understanding of Quality Systems, Standards and Safety Regulations.
- Experience in continuous improvement, lean concepts, or Kaizen.
- Strong analytical, sampling plan applications, fundamental statistical methods, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
