PROJECT MANAGER - ANALYTICS DEPARTMENT

Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.

We are currently seeking a Project Manager in our Analytics department. This position works in a team environment in Lexington, Kentucky. This is not a remote position.

The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering the project on time, within budget and scope. The Project Manager is responsible to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the project assigned. This will require coordinating various activities between multiple functions within the organization. Provide a critical link within the project to other process partners such as analytics, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, software development and field service. The Project Manager will work closely with upper management to ensure that the scope and direction of the project is on schedule.

This position reports to the head of the Analytics operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for the successful execution of projects.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in coordinating project charter and customer requirements gathering meetings and documentation
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develops detailed project plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
  • Leads projects which involve people in multiple functions and regions.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Provides guidance to project team.
  • Performs risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Support Matrix Engineering projects as needed.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in leading / participating in cross functional teams.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or experience in software as a service product development.
  • Excellent external and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organization skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Working Conditions

The general working conditions for this position is an office environment It will be necessary from time to time to visit the warehouse where safety precautions will need to be taken. While in the office, the noise level is usually low. However, the noise level can be low to moderate in the warehouse.
