We are currently seeking a Warehouse Assistant. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.
This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Receives shipments which include, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, moving inventory to stock for later distribution
• Moving materials/merchandise from receiving or storage areas to other designated areas.
• Sorting and placing materials/merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins
• Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for employees, etc.
• Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
• Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
• May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
• Maintain the warehouse well stocked with supplies needed to ensure timely packaging and shipping of customer orders and completing requisition forms to order supplies.
• Prepare parcels for mailing/shipping using UPS Worldship system or any other system required to send packages both domestic and internationally.
• Organize and clean the warehouse and work area always keeping orderliness.
• Routine inspections of warehouse equipment and documenting the inspection activities.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as fork trucks, pallet jacks, and work assist vehicles.
• Kitting and repackaging of components, boxing, labeling, and inspection per requirements for custom orders.
Qualifications & Competencies
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED): 12 months or more related experience and/or training.
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer orders, emails, memos, as well as order documents.
• The employee must be computer literate and able to use Office Word.
Working Conditions
Working conditions will be primarily inside the warehouse with some level of climate control. Outdoor duties may be required.
Physical Requirements
The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and/or crouch. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
