Matrix Design Group LLC., manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.

The Analytics Intern will work from the Lexington, KY office. We are looking for students eager to get hands-on experience with real world projects. As a part-time position it requires 10-25 hours a week during school and we are looking for students willing to work year-round. In the summer, hours will increase. The schedule will be made to fit around the class schedule if applicable.

This position reports to the Operations Research Analyst.

This is a paid internship.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Providing support and Analytics team with everyday operations
• Data entry
• Maintain and support data analytics platforms
• Market Research/Online Research
• Prepare and analyze data
• Performing quality control procedural checks including cleaning data to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Drafting of internal and external digital communications
• Enter and reviewing expense reports

Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with an emphasis towards computer science, business analytics, mathematics, economics, statistics, finance, or related fields
• Motivated and highly driven
• Must have self-discipline to execute job duties without continuous direct supervision
• Passionate for developing new skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with ETL process
• Ability to work in a pressured/high pace environment
• Experience in transforming and manipulating datasets
• Team player with the ability to support the team
• Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately, always exhibiting and maintaining a high degree of maturity and professionalism
• Hungry and enthusiastic for more opportunity
• Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office
• Prior knowledge using Power BI/Tableau or similar Business Intelligence platform
• Prior knowledge on R, Python, SQL, or other programming languages is a plus

Working Conditions

The general working conditions for this position is a climate-controlled office environment and the noise level is low.
